Czech and Ukrainian artists are going to sing, play and dance for the children of refugees from Ukraine at a traditional concert with the symbolic name of Ukrajina vyšívaná, which takes place on Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 6 p.m. in the Adalbertinum Great Hall in Hradec Králové (Československé armády 300 street). The program features performances by the "Jitro" children's choir from Hradec Králové and "Flamenco" dance group, the Ukrainian singer-songwriter Oleh Luklian from Prague, and the folklore ensembles "Radist" and "Nytocka Rodovodu". Since the beginning of the Russian aggression, Charita and the Ukrainian association have been actively involved in helping war refugees from Ukraine and helping them with adaptation and integration into Czech life. We provide humanitarian aid, counseling and assistance, Czech language courses, accompanying to the authorities, job search, children's involvement in education and other necessary help especially to the most vulnerable, such as mothers with children, single women, seniors and people with disabilities.
The diocesan Charity of Hradec Králové has been active in the Regional Assistance Center for Help to Ukraine (KACPU) for a long time, through which over 20,000 refugees have already passed. Among other things, the charity provides round-the-clock care for more than two hundred refugees in hostels in Hradec Králové and Vrchlabí. It provides them with humanitarian and professional assistance. Our staff helps or assists refugee families and individuals in handling the formalities necessary for their legal stay in the Czech Republic and provides them with advice in the field of health care and insurance, housing and the necessary material assistance. They also help mothers in finding a job and with the inclusion of their children in Czech schools.
Our Integration Center for Foreigners also opened over 70 free Czech courses for Ukrainian refugees in Hradec Králové and in the regions, as well as a special course for Ukrainian teachers. More than 1,500 graduates have already completed the courses. Our volunteers also help Ukrainian children and youth with free of charge tutoring. The coordinators of the Young Caritas project also prepared a number of leisure activities for them.
We would like to thank all volunteers, organizations, institutions, companies, associations and individual donors who have already contributed to the extraordinary public collection to help refugees from Ukraine. Coordination of humanitarian aid, provision of information activities, basic advice, assistance and escorts for refugees from Ukraine were also implemented as part of the program "Integration services for holders of special visas and temporary protection 2022" supported by the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic. Services and activities to help Ukrainian refugees were further supported by the charity project Emergency Appeal Czech Republic.
The Integration Center for Foreigners project AMIF/31/04 is financed by the European Union within the framework of the national Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund program and the budget of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic.
The Integration Center for Foreigners in Hradec Králové provides social counseling and assistance, organizes courses in Czech and socio-cultural skills, interest and leisure activities for foreigners in the Hradec Králové region.
