Prague Holidays 21.05.2023

On Sunday, May 21, 2023, our foreigners visited Prague, which really impressed them. The trip was intended for foreigners who live with us in the Czech Republic for a long time and understand Czech well. We had a unique opportunity see Prague from the historical point of view and learn about the fate of Czech national heroes.

The anniversary of Operation "Anthropoid" approached and we visited the National Memorial of the Heroes of the Heydrich to see a documentary film about important Czech resistance fighters and to see the crypt of the church of St. Cyril and Methodius. At the end, foreigners appreciated the exposition dedicated to Operation Anthropoid. Seven paratroopers hid here for 21 nights after the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, who fought their last battle here on June 18, 1942. We paid tribute to the fallen national heroes and ended the trip with an epic calm cruise from the Čech bridge to the corners of Prague's Čertovka and back. On the boat, a brief explanation of the Prague monuments located on the right and left banks of the Vltava took place. Prague Castle, Čertovka canal and Charles Bridge were most appreciated by foreigners.

We used the return journey to visit the Prague Astronomical Clock, so that foreigners could see the world-famous medieval astronomical clock located on the south side of the tower of the Old Town Hall in Prague.

Our trip was magnificent and filled our hearts and minds with heroic atmosphere and understanding of the importance of the liberation fight against dictatorship and violence.
