On Tuesday, June 24, a group of 21 people went on a trip to Prague, which included a cultural-historical part in the morning and a relaxing sightseeing boat cruise on the Vltava River in the afternoon.
After arriving at the Main Train Station in Prague, we walked through the city center to Resslova Street, where we remembered the solemn events of June 1942. The fate of the brave men who contributed to the fall of Nazism in the Czech lands is commemorated at the National Memorial to the Heroes of the Heydrich Terror. We took a guided tour of the crypt of the Orthodox Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius, where seven paratroopers hid for over three weeks.
After visiting the church, we walked to Jirásek Bridge, where we boarded a boat for a one-hour sightseeing cruise on the Vltava River. Both foreigners and Czechs admired the beauty of Prague’s historic landmarks from the water. After the cruise, we walked through the center of Prague back to the train station, where our train took us back to Hradec Králové.
We traveled by train, boat, and on foot. The group included foreigners from Ukraine, Mongolia, Bolivia, and the Philippines.
